Pauline was born on July 3, 1928, in Superior, WI, to Edmond and Helen Lugoski. The second oldest of three beautiful girls, Mom graduated from Superior Cathedral High School in 1947, where she was voted prom queen her senior year. She enjoyed her God-given talent of a natural artist, ice skating, working and spending time with family and friends. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her smile, laughter and warm-hearted humor will never be forgotten

This beautiful young lady soon met the love of her life, Clayton. When their eyes met for the first time, it was "Love at first sight." Pauline and Clayton were married on January 27, 1950, in Superior. They moved to Saint Paul, MN where they had their first five children. They moved to Havre, MT in 1961 (when Clayton was transferred with the Great Northern Railroad) and had four more children, making their family complete.

The Codden family were devoted parishioners of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish in Havre. Together they were involved in Worldwide Marriage Encounter and the Cursillo/Cum Cristo movement. Family was important to Pauline, who taught everyone the importance of love, kindness, faith, patience, empathy and devotion. She embraced all with her tender touch and delicate voice. She had a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary who was her spiritual companion in raising her family, and in living her spiritual life.

Mom and dad were an adorable couple that shared a passion for dancing. Polly was Ginger Rodgers to Clayton's Fred Astaire. They enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. in their Airstream trailer (Silver Twinkie), and going to Airstream rallies. Together they organized the Hands Across the Border Rally in Havre. They especially enjoyed winter time living in sunny Downey, CA.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton (2/20/2018); her parents, Edmond and Helen; sister Eleanor; son, John Codden; and grandchildren: R. Clayton Codden III, and Katharine Mary Byrd.

She is survived by her sister Isabelle (Richard) Hogan of Duluth, MN; children: Annette Byrd of Havre, Linda (John) Stilger of Billings, Richard (Chris) Codden of St. Cloud, MN, Ed Codden of Billings, Kathy (Robert) Cappiello of Corpus Christi, TX, George Codden of Sauk Rapids, MN, Robert (Kim Nelson) Codden of West Chicago, IL, and Michael Codden of St. Cloud, MN; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, Lilly, who was born on dad's birthday.

Mom, you will be remembered and cherished in our loving hearts forever.
