Havre Elks Lodge No. 1201 now accepting applications for $1,500 Grant

Havre Elks Lodge No. 1201 is now accepting applications from community organizations for a $1,500 grant the lodge has been given by the Elks National Foundation.

“Last year, Havre Elks Lodge No. 1201 was pleased to present the $1,500 Anniversary Grant to the Plant a Seed … READ! Program, to assist 60 students in Hill and Blaine counties with early childhood literacy,” Exalted Ruler Kyle Leeds said. “This year we are excited to once again help a single organization or multiple organizations with projects that benefit their communities, or youth.

“Havre Lodge No. 1201’s area covers all communities in Hill and Blaine counties and Chouteau County to Big Sandy,” he added

Individuals or organizations can submit a letter explaining their project and the budget for their project to Havre Elks Lodge No. 1201 Secretary Brandy Kurtz, email [email protected].

If organizations have questions about this grant, they can call Kurtz at 390-0091 or Leeds at 945-2524. Letters and budgets are due by Tuesday, Sept. 25.

Leeds said the grant is being funded by the Elks National Foundation.

“We are celebrating 150 years as a fraternal organization in 2018,” Leeds said. “The Elks National Foundation, in celebration of our 150th anniversary, for the second-straight year is offering every lodge across the country the opportunity to apply for a $1,500 anniversary grant for a youth- or community-based project.

“The Elks National Foundation is funded by the generosity of Elks members across the country,” Leeds added.

The Elks works to assist veterans, youth and communities, where its lodges are located. Locally, Havre Lodge No. 1201 has 206 members and is always looking for new members.
