A benefit is set Thursday at Pizza Hut to help a woman pay for expenses while she is battling cancer.

Crystal Albers said her mother, Patti Reardon, was diagnosed with throat cancer in May and has had three surgeries since June. She is now in Great Falls starting chemotherapy, Albers said.

Reardon's husband, Tom, is traveling back and forth from their home in Cut Bank to be with his wife.

Albers said her mother, who is 59, is basically a stay-at-home wife now, having retired from her work in home health care and housekeeping work, and needs help with the expenses.

Thursday, whenever someone making a purchase at Pizza Hut says they are donating to Patti Reardon's account, the restaurant will donate 20 percent of the purchase price to her account.

Stalbers said she is also setting up a benefit account for her mother at Independence Bank. The account should be set up by Aug. 23, she said, and people can donate there to help with expenses.
