Obituary - James William Yeon

January 30, 1935 - August 22, 2018

James Yeon, our beloved father, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, Montana.

He was a great man who was always there for us. His strong and steady presence in our lives was that of comfort, wisdom, security and love. He will be so greatly missed, but will live in our hearts forever.

James William Yeon was born in Havre, Montana to Gervan and Donna Yeon on January 30, 1935. He attended St. Jude’s school and later moved to Spokane, Washington, to live with his Aunt Marie Dowling where he attended Gonzaga Prep and College, majoring in accounting. Upon returning to Havre, he met his wife, Yolanda Mazzuca. They were married in 1960 and had four beautiful children. He worked as an accountant in Havre until his health no longer allowed him to. He was a golfer, tennis player, trap shooter and a fisherman, but his greatest love was bird hunting. This was his true passion in life. He was an avid reader and loved watching car races from around the world. He was a very intelligent man and a master at crossword puzzles.

Survivors include daughter Jenee Yeon of Great Falls, daughter Renee (Art) Malisani of Great Falls, son Salvatore (Mary) Yeon of Havre, grandchildren, Bryon, Genevieve (Jesse), Gabriella (Justin), Yolanda and Zippora; great-grandchildren, Remington, Ruger, Colt, Barrett, Seraphina and Anastasia; and a sister, Jean (Yeon) Barsotti.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Yolanda (Mazzuca) Yeon, his son James Gervan Yeon, father, Gervan Charles Yeon, mother, Donna (Divine) Yeon and brother, Charles Gervan Yeon.

Words cannot describe the sorrow in our hearts for the loss of our dad and how much he will be missed, but he is united now with his wife, son, brother and all who loved him. Run free Daddy, Dad, Daddy Jim, Grandpa and Grumpa. You will live on in our hearts until we are together again.

Graveside service for James will be 1:00 p.m., today, Friday, August 24, 2018 at Calvary Cemetery.
