Jim was born on November 1, 1940, in Steamboat Springs, CO, to George and Iva (Garrison) Delonge and was raised throughout the western United States. Jim lost his father at the age of 19, and the family settled in Klamath Falls, OR, where Jim worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a custodian for over 15 years.

In 1969, he met Carolyn Fodge, and the couple soon married. In 1971, they lost an infant son due to medical issues, but were blessed with their daughter soon after. Carolyn passed away in 1982, and several years later, Jim married Neda Anderson. The couple, together with their children, moved to Salem, OR, where they later divorced, but remained friends. In 1996, Jim relocated to Montana to be near his daughter, most recently working at the Zip Trip in Havre. He retired early in 2014, and spent as much time with his family as he could.

Jim enjoyed most any outdoor activity, especially camping and fishing. Watching old westerns and war movies was a favorite rainy-day pastime, together with Facebook. He had a fantastic sense of humor, and could chat with just about anyone. Jim was a man who cherished his family and his personal relationship with God above anything else. He also really enjoyed church activities, as they allowed him to spend time with his church family.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jimmy; beloved wife, Carolyn; parents, George and Iva Delonge; brothers, Ray and Chuck Delonge; and sister, Shirley Hamen.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Ellimae Winchell of Havre; grandchildren Michael Camenzind and Amariah Winchell, both of Havre; grandson Malachi Camenzind; and pets, Blackie and Pookie.
