Celebrating History: Liberty Loans and conservation

Today was the day! Sept. 28 was the date for the fourth Liberty Loan drive to raise funds to fight the war “over there.” Local projections were that Hill County for the fourth time would oversubscribe its goal of $100,000, and there was a very lengthy article on The Havre Plaindealer’s Sept. 28, 1918 front page encouraging Hill County residents to be patriotic and support the troops.
