Obituary - Patricia A. Hedges

Patricia A. Hedges, 84, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, due to natural causes at Northern Montana Care Center.

Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018, and a funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018, all at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.

Patsy's family has suggested honorariums be made in her name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, St. Jude Parish, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Patsy was born on April 24, 1934, in Zurich to Marvin and Marion Hughes. She was raised outside of Zurich, attending school there through the eighth grade. Patsy graduated from Havre High School in 1952. While attending Havre High School, she began dating the love of her life, William Hedges. The couple married in 1955 in Havre, and they had six children whom they raised in Havre. Patsy worked as the insurance clerk for the Havre Clinic for many years before retiring in 1996.

She enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, and spending time at the cabin in Wolf Creek. Patsy was known for her insatiably sweet tooth and cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a long-time member of the Catholic Daughters, having served as regional president, and the Beta Sigma Fi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Marion Hughes; granddaughter Sharon Harris; and siblings Billy Hughes and Peggy Jarrells.

Patsy is survived by Bill Hedgesof Havre, her husband of over sixty years; daughters, Becky (Tim) Chagnon of Havre, Colleen (Ron) Watson of Gillette, and Janet (Ken) Halko of Sand Coulee; sons, Jim Hedges of Helena, Tim (Tana) Hedges of Havre and Michael (Jessica) Hedges of Cut Bank; seventeen grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Dion of Havre, and numerous nieces and nephews.
