Northern student honored for mentoring, tutoring efforts

HELENA — The Governor’s Office of Community Service and Montana Campus Compact honored Montana State University-Northern student Luke Rech as the Volunteer of the Game Saturday.

Rech was honored for his commitment to making his community a better place. His service activity started in high school, where he was an active volunteer reading and tutoring young children as well as volunteering for community clean-up activities. When he arrived at Northern, he became an avid volunteer with the Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line.
