Hi-Line Volleyball: Beeters cap a perfect 6C East regular season

The District 6C East volleyball regular season came to a close last week, just as it did for the District 1B and 2B. Now, the real fun begins.

But before district tournaments start later this week, area teams had one more week of conference play.

In the 6C East, the action started last Monday with Big Sandy beating Hays-Lodge Pole by scores of 25-4, 25-20, 20-25 and 25-21. The match was the final one of the regular season for the Pioneers, who finished in fourth place in the district.

Tuesday, Chinook finished its season with a tough win over the Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks. The Sugarbeeters beat the Hawks by scores of 25-21, 20-25, 25-18 and 25-22 in Chinook. The win finished off a perfect regular season for the Beeters in conference play.

Also on Tuesday, North Star beat Box Elder in a critical match to determine second place in the 6C East. The Knights beat the Bears by scores of 25-18, 25-16, 21-25 and 25-15. North Star finished second in the conference, while Box Elder was third.

The 6C East wrapped up its regular season Thursday with CJI beating HLP twice. The Hawks won the first match by scores of 25-11, 25-11 and 25-16, and the second by scores of 25-10, 25-9 and 25-8. The sweep gave CJI fifth place in the 6C East, while HLP finished sixth.

Rocky Boy's regular season came to a close last Tuesday with a loss to Shelby, while Harlem lost to Wolf Point last Thursday but rebounded to beat Polar last Saturday night.

The Wildcats will now attend the 2B District Tournament Friday and Saturday in Poplar. Rocky Boy is off to the 1B Tournament, which runs Friday and Saturday in Fairfield. The top four teams from each district will meet in the Northern B Divisional Nov. 1-3 in Cut Bank.

Meanwhile, the 6C East tourney will be held Thursday and Friday in Gildford, where spots in next week's Northern C will be on the line. The Northern C is slated for Nov. 1-3 in Belt.
