Northern harriers run hard in Frontier Championships

The 2018 cross country season came to a close for the Montana State University-Northern cross country teams as the Lights and Skylights ran in the Frontier Conference Championships in Great Falls.

Both Northern teams finished in fifth place, and each team had a Top 15 finish as well.

On the women’s side, Northern’s Rachel David, who qualified for the 2017 NAIA national championships, finished in 12th place with a time of 19:53.16. On the men’s side, Northern freshman, and former Hays-Lodge Pole state champion Isaiah Runs Above was the Light’s top finisher. Runs Above placed 13th with a time of 27:12.94.

Also running for the Lights was Amos Taiswa, who placed 29th (28:15.45). Beau Hyatt finished in 31st for the Lights (28:19.36), Luke Karnauskas placed 32nd (28:20.08), Field Soosloff finished 33rd (28:20.31), Kai Krumweide finished 34th (28:26.98), Austin Jones placed 37th (29:13.33), Liam Baez-Terry finished 47th and Eddie Harmon was 49th.

Meanwhile, the Skylights saw Carlee Brown place 21st with a time of 20:58.83, Kaylee Nystrom finish 24th (21:14.12), Raini Johnson finish 29th (21:24.88), Grace Schwenk place 42nd (22:37.57), and Kaitlin Nystrom finish 44th (23:20.41).

Lewis-Clark State swept the Frontier team titles.
