Border Patrol arrests Honduran national in Havre

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a 51-year old Honduran national Monday afternoon in Havre after a brief pursuit.

He told the Border Patrol agents that he ran because he was illegally present in the United States, a release from the Border Patrol said.

Havre Border Patrol agents encountered the man at the Havre Amtrak train station at approximately 3:15 p.m. While answering questions from the agents regarding his immigration status he told the agents that he was a national of Honduras. He then fled the scene, running into the downtown area of Havre attempting to evade the agents. He ran down Second Street and turned north on First Avenue before being apprehended.

After the arrest the man was processed for his immigration violation and is pending removal proceedings.

The name of the man had not been released Tuesday and no further information on the arrest was available.
