ServeMontana announces 2019 Youth Serve Montana Scholarship

Scholarship benefits Montana high schoolers who serve their communities, want to attend school in-state

HELENA — The Governor’s Office of Community Service, Reach Higher Montana, and Montana Campus Compact have announced applications are now being accepted for the 2019 Youth Serve Montana Scholarship.

The $1,000 scholarship is offered to 100 Montana students who are attending Montana Campus Compact member institutions and who have demonstrated commitment to volunteerism and community service by volunteering at least 100 hours during the last year.

The application form, guidelines, and FAQs can be found online at http://serve.mt.gov/ServeMT/youth-serve-montana-scholarships/.

“These students have given so much to their communities, and I’m glad we can give them something back while helping to foster a lifelong commitment to service,” Dan Ritter, executive director of the Office of Community Service, said. “Helping students stay in-state for school and continue making Montana a better place to live is something we can all be proud of.”

Applications close January 31, 2019, and early submissions are highly encouraged.

The Governor’s Office of Community Service expands and promotes national service and volunteerism in Montana and engages citizens in service and emergency preparedness. Montana Campus Compact Montana Campus Compact is Montana’s largest higher education network and works to improve community life by educating students for civic and social responsibility.
