Clearing up some confusion

Confusion seems to have arisen in the area about a possible connection between The Havre Daily News and the website The Havre Herald.

The answer about the connection is simple: There is none.

Three former employees of the Havre Daily News, who had resigned their positions over the last 27 months, started new endeavors in Havre.

In or about May of this year, John Kelleher, Teresa Getten and Paul Dragu started the website The Havre Herald and its associated Facebook page and started posting stories and photos.

Over the past several weeks, The Havre Daily News has received calls or comments that seem to show people think The Havre Herald’s staff members are with The Havre Daily.

It is reminiscent of 10 years ago when some people thought the anonymously written and posted blog The Havre Daily Corrector was part of or associated with The Daily News.

It wasn’t. Neither is The Havre Herald.

We at the Havre Daily News just want people to know if they are interviewed by someone from The Havre Herald, that doesn’t go to The Havre Daily News. Likewise, if they send information to The Havre Herald, we at The Havre Daily won’t see it.

We welcome submissions of story ideas, press releases and letters to the editor to publish in our print and online editions as well as our Facebook page and Twitter accounts. Call me at 265-6795, ext. 14, or email to [email protected].
