House fire on Sucker Creek Road

Bear Paw Volunteer Fire Department responded with four units and 11 firefighters to a structure fire reported Monday at about 11 a.m. on the 50000 Block of Sucker Creek Road.

Bear Paw Fire Chief Josh Bebee said the fire in the dwelling was contained to the entry way area, but the house sustained significant smoke and heat damage. Cause of the fire is not known for certain, Bebee said, but he believes it was related to the wood stove in the kitchen.

Havre Fire Department ambulance was called to the scene at 11:05 a.m., the Hill County Sheriff’s Office dispatch log says, because someone had sustained burns to their face and hands. Havre Fire Department also sent one fire truck with two firefighters to assist.
