Montana Taxpayers Association sets annual meeting

The Montana Taxpayers Association will be holding its 97th Annual Meeting Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Marriott Helena Colonial in Helena.

Lt. Gov. Mike Cooney will be the speaker at the noon luncheon talking on the governor’s administrations goals for the 2019 legislative session.

The agenda topics following lunch will include:

• Montana Economic Outlook — Patrick Barkey, director of the University of Montana Bureau of Business and Economic Research;

• Federal Tax Reform and Impacts on Montana – Doug Lindholm, president and executive director of Council on State Taxation, and Lee Baerlocher of the Montana Department of Revenue;

• Revenue and Budget — Amy Carlson and Stephanie Morrison of the state Legislative Fiscal Division;

• Reappraisal of Homes/Commercial Property and Ag Land – Montana Department of Revenue Director Gene Walborn

• Legislative panel discussing the upcoming 2019 Legislature

The meeting will wrap up with a reception and refreshments about 5 pm.

Pre-registration is now open. People can call 406-442-2130 to preregister. Registration closes Saturday, Dec. 1. People must register by then to attend the luncheon and afternoon meeting.
