Three area spikers earn Class C honors

The 2018 Hi-Line volleyball season is over, but now, it's time for the awards to come pouring in.

Three District 6C East players recently received the highest postseason volleyball honor a player can get, as they earned Class C All-State honors.

Two Chinook Sugarbeeters were named Class C All-State this season in seniors Kourtney Hanson and Megan Molyneaux. The pair helped lead the Beeters to an undefeated 6C East season, as well as the 6C East championship last month. Chinook also finished third at the Northern C divisional tournament. Hanson was voted all-state for the second straight season.

Also earning Class A All-State honors for a second time was North Star senior Paij Peterson. The four-year starting setter, helped North Star finish second in the 6C East and fourth in the Northern C.

The 6C East All-Conference Team was also announced, with Hanson, Molyneaux and Peterson all earning First-Team honors. A pair of Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks were also on the First Team in seniors Peyton Hawks and Khloe Kamerzell, while North Star's Olivia King rounded out the First Team.

CJI senior Kim Ghekiere and junior teammate Samantha May were named to the Second Team, as was Chinook libero Lincy Johnson. North Star's Saige Scheresky-O'Neil was also on the Second Team, as was Box Elder's Lillian Gopher and Big Sandy's Jaylyn Cline.
