United Way capital campaign underway

United Way is in the midst of its capital campaign season and is looking for donations to help fund its partners.

Hill County United Way Director Delonna Malone said the slogan for this campaign season is “Local dollars saves local lives.”

She added that their biggest fundraising event is the crab boil, which took place at the end of September, this year at Beaver Creek Golf Course.

Malone said they cooked crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn and kielbasa sausage at the event. Tables were sold to event sponsors for $1,500 per table with up to eight people around each table.
