The Christmas holiday season kicked in right after Thanksgiving with the Chinook Parade of Lights and multiple other holiday activities running Friday and Havre holding a multitude of activities, as well, Saturday.

The Havre Elks Lodge also jumped in Friday when it started what it intends to be an annual holiday tradition with its cocktails and crafts show.

Chinook was busy all day with a focus on local shops and stores as well as its annual Festival of Trees and its Parade of Lights as people strolled around town looking at its holiday decorations.

Saturday in Havre the events kicked off with the annual Special Olympics fundraiser, the Subzero SuperHero Polar Plunge, followed by the annual Santa Run and Cookies and Milk with Santa and then the main festivities, the lighting of the tree on Town Square.
