Nominations sought for Elliott award

Havre Daily News staff

The Blue Pony Booster Club is looking for names of people to consider in the Dr. Jim Elliott Memorial Award.

The award is given in memory of the long-time Havre physician and Havre High School supporter, who died in 2000 at the age of 70.

Elliott’s family gave the first award in 2001 and purchased a plaque that hangs in Havre High School’s west foyer with the names of recipients engraved on it.

The family designated the Booster Club as the group who selects the recipients since the first.

The award is based on volunteerism, along with personal or professional sacrifices made for the betterment of the Blue Pony activities in the tradition of Elliott. The award is intended to be for more than just a fan but for an individual who makes an impact on Havre High School activities and athletics.

The award is not eligible for any current Havre Public School employees or Havre Public School Foundation or Blue Pony Booster Club current board members.

People are asked to send the name of their nominee and why they would like them to receive the award.

People can send nominations to Blue Pony Booster Club, PO Box 704, Havre, MT 59501, or email them to [email protected] by Jan. 7.

For more information about the award, people can contact Booster Club President Stacy Rismon at [email protected].
