HHS swimmers finish 2018 in Great Falls

The Havre High swim teams only started their season at the Havre Invitational last week. But, the Blue Ponies have already reached the end of their 2018 schedule.

Havre was in Great Falls this past weekend for two meets at the Swarthout Pool. Friday, the Blue Ponies took part in the Great Falls Pre Relay Meet, where they battled Great Falls High, CMR and Hardin. The Havre boys placed third in the meet with 194 points, while the HHS girls finished fourth with 213.

No individual results were sent for the Pre Relay Meet, while Havre returned to the pool in Great Falls Saturday for the Great Falls Relay Meet. The meet features relay races only and saw a host of Class AA schools compete, as well as Billings Central and Hardin.

The Pony boys had a strong showing at the meet, scoring 45 points to finish fifth. The Ponies had Top 6 finishes in the 200-yard butterfly, row 400 freestyle and the 200 breaststroke.

On the girls side, Havre finished ninth with 17 points.

The Blue Ponies will now be off until Jan. 5 when they host the Class A Meet at the Havre Community Pool.
