Havre City Council moved forward in process to appoint new city judge

Havre city government has set a date to interview the four people who applied for the position of Havre city judge.

City Clerk and Finance Director Doug Kaercher said the council will interview the candidates during the the City Council meeting next Tuesday in City Hall.

The council expects to vote on filling the position after the interviews.

The selected candidate will be appointed city judge to replace City Judge Virginia Seigel for the remainder of her term.

Seigel announced in November she was resigning effective Jan. 21 to take a job with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
