A U.S. Highway 2 business reported finding a gun in a hotel room Thursday at 9:06 a.m.

David Paul Patera of Columbia Falls, 54, was arrested on charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia after a U.S. Highway 2 caller reported possibly finding meth in a hotel room Thursday at 12:20 p.m.

Havre High School reported Thursday at 12:41 p.m. a possible fight.

Someone at the Havre Police Department Thursday at 2:00 p.m. asked to speak with an officer about parenting plan questions.

Someone at the Havre Police Department Thursday at 3:18 p.m. asked to speak with an officer about identity theft questions.

A Fifth Avenue caller reported Thursday at 3:23 p.m. a window being broken on a vehicle.

Elizabeth April Dawn Caplette of Box Elder, 32, was arrested on charges of assaulting a minor, partner or family member assault and resisting arrest after a 10th Street West caller reported a fight between a mother and a daughter Thursday at 3:27 p.m.

An arrest was made relating to a 10th Street West caller reporting a trespasser Thursday at 4:29 p.m. No other details on the arrest were provided.

A First Street caller reported Thursday at 5:32 p.m. of their tires being slashed.

Cody Tyler Sutherland of Havre, 27, was arrested on a charge of partner or family member assault after a Second Street caller reported a female and male fighting Thursday at 6:58 p.m.

A First Street caller reported Thursday at 7:26 p.m. that their purse was stolen.

--

A 10th Avenue caller reported a stolen vehicle Thursday at 12:01 a.m.

Lindsey Marie Casebolt of Havre, 31, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant after officers investigated suspicious activity on 11th Avenue at 1:35 a.m.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

A U.S. Highway 2 business reported Thursday at 1:29 p.m. of locks being cut.

Verlas Reylynne Chiefstick of Box Elder, 59, was arrested on a state District Court warrant Thursday at 2:47 p.m. at the Hill County Detention Center.

--

Joshua Daniel Kaupang of Havre, 35, was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, obstruction of a peace officer or other public servant and trespassing and five Justice or City court warrants after a U.S. Highway 2 caller reported believing someone was inside a storage unit Thursday at 7:47 p.m.

--

A Rudyard area caller reported Thursday at 8:55 p.m. of a white truck driving recklessly all over town.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to one call Thursday.

--

Firefighters responded to a reported gasoline spill Thursday at 6:23 p.m. on the 1000 Block of First Street. The spill was approximately 25 gallons of fuel, and crews at the site of the spill had already put some absorbent over the spill before firefighters arrived on the scene. When the firefighters arrived they added more absorbent and released the scene. Property owners said they would be contacting a construction company this morning to re-evaluate the spill.

Havre Animal Shelter

The Havre shelter this morning held two medium-hair cats, one long-hair 8-month-old kitten and two long-hair 6-month-old kittens of unknown gender, one medium-hair female cat and four medium-hair male cats, as well as nine cats for its trap-spay/neuter-release program.

The Havre shelter also held this morning a male American bulldog, two female mixed-breed dogs, a female Labrador retriever dog, a female Weimaraner-dachshund dog, a male Australian cattle dog-blue heeler-corgi 8-month-old puppy, a male shepherd dog, a female Anatolian shepherd-husky 10-month-old puppy and a male pit bull-Labrador 9-month-old puppy.

A girl was born Jan. 21, 2019, to Leanna Writing Bird and Chase Taveapont of Havre.

A boy was born Jan. 22, 2019, to Autumn Harvey and Jaylen Crazy Boy of Havre.
