Former Hill County attorney charged with felony assault with a weapon

Abilene Police Department Public Information Coordinator Rick Tomlin confirmed former Hill County attorney Jessica Cole-Hodgkinson was arrested in Abilene, Texas, by Abilene Police Department Sunday at 6:09 a.m. on charges of first degree felony aggravated assault with a weapon after shooting her estranged husband multiple times.

The Abilene Police arrest report added that Cole-Hodgkinson refused to speak and did not provide any information about the incedent at the time of the arrest.

Monday a Taylor County Jail official said Cole-Hodgkinson was still being held in custody on a $50,000 bond.

Hodgkinson in August of 2018 was found guilty by Hill County Justice of the Peace Audrey Barger for three counts of criminal contempt and barred her from practicing in justice court for one year.

The Abilene Police incident report says the investigation is still ongoing.
