Havre Elks sets Pizza Hut fundraiser

Havre Elks Lodge #1201 announced the lodge and Havre Pizza Hut are teaming up on Thursday to help communities in Hill, Blaine and Chouteau counties.

“On Thursday, Feb. 21st, Pizza Hut is donation 20, percent of all orders that day, between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m., when people tell them they want to donate to the Havre Elks Lodge,” Elks Lodge Exalted Ruler Kyle Leeds said. “This offer applies on all dine-in, carry-out, and delivery orders placed on Thursday.

“Havre Elks Lodge #1201 plans to utilize the funds raised … at Pizza Hut to continue assisting area youth, area veterans, and our communities as a whole,” Leeds added. “Our lodge area consists of all of Hill County, all of Blaine County, and Chouteau County on U.S. (Highway) 87 to the town of Big Sandy.

“This is a very large geographic area and the more funds the Havre Elks Lodge can raise the more money we have to invest back into the communities our lodge serves,” he said.

Leeds said one program the Elks is excited to re-start will help all communities in their lodge area. The Elks Drug Awareness Program, he said, is the only program in the United States endorsed by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.

“Drug abuse is a major problem across the United States and in Montana,” Leeds said. “We have a new lodge chairperson and are really looking forward to relaunching this program to assist the communities in our lodge area with the drug abuse problems that are specific to their communities.”

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is celebrating 151 years as a premiere charitable and patriotic organization in America. Locally, Havre Lodge #1201 has 231 members
