Transit system applying for capital and operating assistance

North Central Montana Transit is applying for $620,434 through the Capital assistance and Operating Assistance Grant programs.

The capital assistance grant is funded by the Federal Transit Administration — FTA — and administered by the Montana Department of Transportation. The Operating Assistance Grant is under the Montana Department of Transportation’s Operating Grant Program.

FTA funds will be used to purchase two buses and the bus barn for providing transportation services to the Hi-Line area. The application is on file at 339 Third St. in Havre.
