Havre Public Schools Education Foundation accepting scholarship applications

Press release

The Havre Public Schools Education Foundation has 26 scholarship opportunities available for 2019 Havre High School graduates.

A few of the applications are also offered to Hi-Line, North Star High School and continuing education students. One online scholarship application form is used to apply for any and all of the scholarships. The application form can be found on the foundation website at http://www.hpseducationfoundation.com/.

A few of the applications require specific criteria along with the general information form. Applicants should be sure to read each description and include requested additional information for the best chance to be selected to receive a scholarship. Recipients are selected by the scholarship donor or the HHS Scholarship Committee. Applicants with questions can contact the foundation via email at [email protected], by phone at 262-3394 or speak with HHS counselors.

The deadline for applications is midnight, April 1.

Foundation representatives said it is pleased to offer three, possibly four, new scholarships this year along with the previous opportunities offered in 2018.

The donors offering new applications include Havre High Class of 1968, which is awarding one $500 scholarship. “We are very happy these generous donors have entrusted HPSEF with the honor of awarding their scholarships,” the foundation said in a press release. “These donors join the generous donors that awarded funds to a deserving applicant for one or many years.”

The Havre Public Schools Education Foundation is a non-profit organization formed to encourage and support excellence in education by raising, accumulating and disbursing funds to improve, enhance and support the educational opportunities for the students of Havre Public Schools.

The scholarship program is a very important part of the Foundation as well as awarding small grants to educators when special projects are a part of their educational process but extra funding is needed. Another area of importance to the HPSEF Board of Directors is Havre High School Alumni, keeping alumni connected to each other and our community through the upcoming Fossil Festival. This event will take place in September 2020. It will be the fifth Fossil Festival, but the second hosted by the foundation.

“We appreciate all the support we receive from alumni and community members, whether as a past, present or future member of the Board of Directors, as a volunteer at one of our events or financial support,” the release said. “Anyone interested in volunteering in any capacity or serving as a board member please contact us. Thank you for financial support through our annual Blue Pony Spirit Clubs, purchasing and renewing a Blue Pony license plate, signing up for a Blue Pony debit card at Independence Bank, as well as participating in our occasional Blue Pony Bingo or other fundraisers.”
