Havre Police Department

Kaleb Morrison Schafer of Havre, 18, was arrested on charges of sexual assault and obscene phone call after a Havre area caller asked to speak with an officer Tuesday at 9:50 a.m.

Crystal Lee Habeger of Havre, 36, was arrested on two Justice or City court warrants after she made a call to 911 and hung up.

Damage to a Cherolet Silverado on First Avenue was reported at 8:02 p.m. Tuesday as a possible hit-and-run from the previous night.

A Second Street caller said Tuesday at 7:39 p.m. a stray black and white cocker spaniel was trying to get into homes, and Havre Animal Control reported the dog was located and returned to its owner at 8:29 p.m.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

An abandoned dog was reported at an animal shelter at 7:08 a.m. Tuesday.

A Liberty County caller reported a dog bite Tuesday at 12:18 p.m., which resulted in an arrest. No details were provided on the charges.

An arrest was made at Hill County Detention Center after a caller reported suspicious activity Tuesday at 1:14 p.m. No details on the charges was provided.

Havre Fire Department

Firefighters responded to a report of a smoke smell on the 200 Block of First Street Tuesday at 10:24 a.m. The fire unit was on site for 30 minutes but could not locate the source of the smell. The recommended the building owner be contacted and appliance professionals be called in.

Havre Animal Shelter

The Havre shelter this morning held two medium-hair cats, two long-hair 7-month-old kittens, one long-hair 10-month-old kitten and a medium-hair 6-month-old kitten all of unknown gender, four medium-hair male cats, one medium-hair female cat, one short-hair male cat and one short-hair female cat.

The Havre shelter also held this morning a female mixed-breed dog, a male Rottweiler-German shepherd dog, female shepherd-Labrador retriever dog, a male mixed-breed 14-week-old puppy, two male pit bull terrier dogs and a male mixed-breed 25-week-old puppy.
