She graduated from Shelby High School in 1963. She took one year in Great Falls to major in French then transferred to Bozeman to obtain her degree in education from MSU. While in Bozeman, she met her husband, Richard Preputin. They were married October 25th, 1969, in Shelby Montana. They had three children, Christopher, Shawn and Jennifer. They later divorced in 1994.

Rosalie then completed her master's degree in counseling at the College of Great Falls in 2000. After a couple years in counseling, she then opened her own practice, Sunrise Counseling, in Conrad, Montana. She thoroughly enjoyed her practice and helping her patients until she retired to Havre, Montana, in August of 2017.

Rosalie loved gardening, cooking and passing that knowledge to her children and grandchildren, reading, sewing and gathering with friends. Rosalie was active in the St. Michael's Catholic Church where she loved to sing in the choir and volunteer her time to those in need.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother Don McCormick.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher Preputin and Shawn (Dominique) Preputin of Havre, Montana, and her daughter, Jennifer (Sonny) Romero of Gig Harbor, Washington; her five grandchildren, Ryann Preputin, Stephen Preputin, Koby Preputin, Annabelle Romero and Riggins Romero; her brother Larry (Denise) McCormick; sisters, Kathy McCormick, Marie (Tom) Rossmiller and Jeanne (John) Blanchet; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
