Independence Bank promotes Miller, Moomey

Press release

Independence Bank announced it has promoted two people, Chandra Moomey and Becky Miller, to new positions.

The bank promoted Miller to human resources officer. Miller joined the staff two years ago as an executive assistant and brings more than 19 years of management experience to her new position. Prior to joining the Bank, Becky was the general manager at Havre's Best Western Plus Great Northern Inn while opening and also managing the Best Western Plus Havre Inn & Suites.

In her new position as a human resource officer, Miller will manage the employment and benefit programs for the six Independence Bank locations, in Havre, Malta, Glasgow, Scobey, Poplar and Conrad. She will also lead the bank's recruiting efforts.

"Becky has been an excellent addition to the HR Department and we look forward to her continued growth and development in her new position," said Kay Mayer, vice president of Human Resources at Independence Bank. "Becky brings a great deal of experience to her work at the Bank and that experience will not only benefit the HR Department, but all of our employees as well."

A Havre native, Miller graduated from Havre High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in business technology with minors in marketing and management from Montana State University-Northern.

Miller serves as a board member for Central Montana, a tourism entity that promotes tourism in Great Falls and its surrounding communities. She is a board member for the Studio of Dance and Arts and served 13 years with Havre's Chamber Tourism Committee, serving as chair for nine of the 13 years. During her tenure, Miller established and served as chair for Havre's Tourism Business Improvement District and served as chair on the first Havre Convention and Visitors Bureau board.

Miller resides in Havre and has two children.

Independence Bank promoted Moomey to loan officer. She joined the bank in 2017 as the special credits officer and remains in that position in addition to her new responsibilities. In her new role, Moomey will be assisting agricultural and commercial customers with their lending needs. Prior to joining the bank, she worked as the property manager at the Holiday Village Mall for 11 years. During that time, she also served as the executive director of the Northern Lights Athletic and Scholarship Foundation for five years.

"We are very happy to welcome Chandra to our Ag and Commercial lending team," said Matt Wertheimer, vice president of lending at Independence Bank. "Her knowledge of the Havre area, combined with her management experience and excellent customer service skills make her a great choice for this position."

Moomey serves as the past president of the Central Montana Tourism Board.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, golfing and traveling with her husband and three children.
