County meetings set for next week on $25 million infrastructure grant proposal

The Hill County government is inviting residents to two meetings to discuss what could be done with millions of dollars in federal funding to work on infrastructure in the county

Hill County Commissioner Mark Peterson said in a release that the county is planning to apply for a $25 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development, or BUILD, Transportation Discretionary Grant program.

“This is a huge task to take on, but it is an opportunity we cannot pass up,” Peterson said .
