Obituary - Patricia Marie Kinholt

After a courageous battle with cancer, Patricia Kinholt passed away Sunday, April 21, in her home surrounded by family and therapy dog Copper.

Patricia was born on December 5, 1933, in Wahpeton, North Dakota, to Joseph and Margaret Flannery. She graduated from Havre High School in 1952. She married Clifford on April 11, 1955 and raised three sons, Michael, Gregory, and Stephan.

Patricia spent nearly her entire life in Havre where she worked as a dental assistant, telephone operator, and office manager. She was an Avon representative for fifty years and received numerous awards. She had been a member of the Havre Elks, Optimist, and Eagle clubs.

Patricia loved travel, especially trips with family members that would take her to tropical places, beaches and lakes. Her numerous trips with her children and grandchildren were her most cherished. Patricia also loved her home in Havre and had many dear friends who she cherished over the years. Many described her as "an angel" because she was always sending special cards or gifts to friends and family for special occasions, when they were sick, or "just because."

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, her brother, Jim Flannery, and her parents. Survivors include sons Michael Kinholt and his wife Joann of Havre, MT; Gregory Kinholt of Havre, MT; Stephan Kinholt and his husband Kenneth Timmons of Seattle, WA; grandchildren Chalon, Ryan, and Courtney; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Patricia asked that we give special thanks to Dr. Grant Harrer, David Brost, staff at the Great Falls Sletten Cancer Institute, the Gift of Life Housing, and Havre Bear Paw Hospice. She also thanks her special lifelong friend of 71 years, Toshi Ito, and her numerous other friends. Finally she thanks her neighbor children, Brennen and Gracie, who stopped over to brighten her day on many occasions.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, Patricia suggested donations be made to the Great Falls Benefis Foundation (Sletten Cancer Research Center and Gift of Life Housing), the Havre's Boys & Girls Club, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

At Patricia's request, there will be no funeral or services. Instead she asked the immediate family to celebrate her life at our yearly reunion on Flathead Lake, a family celebration that she started and organized for the past several years.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
