Northern Montana Health Care Awards "C.A.R.E." Award to Ophus

From Northern Montana Health Care

Earlier this year NMHC presented the C.A.R.E. Award to Garrit Ophus, a member of the Northern Montana Health Care Information Systems Team.

Ophus is a key member of this very integral department of NMHC.

"Garrit is a tremendous force in our department. Garrit goes above and beyond. His attitude to do the right thing and quality of work shows in his work performance throughout the organization," said Candis Deruchia, VP of information systems and quality metrics for Northern Montana Health Care. "He consistently delivers excellent results in a timely manner. We know if we assign a task to Garrit, it will be done quickly and thoroughly."

Originally from Big Sandy, Ophus said he, his wife and his two daughters love living in Havre. He is also active in softball in Havre. He has played on the NMHC team for several years.

During the awards presentation, Garrit was presented with a special logoed jacket. Nominations are now being sought for the next recipient.

Taking the time to recognize excellence in their employees is one of the reasons Ophus was nominated for this honor by several of his co-workers, who said his excellent work ethic and positive attitude make him an excellent coworker.

The C.A.R.E. Award was started as part of NMHC's Customer Service Group, The High Five Club. C.A.R.E. stands for Compassionately Achieving Remarkable Excellence. The purpose of this bi-monthly recognition award is to acknowledge employees who have served at NMHC in an exceptional manner by exemplifying outstanding service through his or her work, and consistently exhibiting a positive and supportive attitude. Employees at NMHC nominate their fellow employees for this award.

Customer service is important to Northern Montana Health Care, with "Being the health care provider of choice" part of its mission statement.
