Caden Rettig, North Star Track

North Star junior Caden Rettig is making sure he ends his spring sports season on a high note. At last Wednesday's District 9C track meet, Rettig won the long jump with a leap of 20-01, and also finished second in the pole vault, the 100 meters and the 200 meters. For good measure, Rettig rounded out a big day with a third place in the 400, as the Knights finished third overall. Rettig, who also excels in football and basketball, will be at the Northern C track meet Thursday in Great Falls.

Leah Gannon, Fort Benton Track

It was a big week last week for Fort Benton senior Leah Gannon. She signed to play basketball for Rocky Mountain College, but before that, Gannon dominated last Wednesday District 9C track meet in Havre. Gannon won the long jump, the 400 meters and the 800 meters, while also running on both of Fort Benton's championship relay teams, as her Longhorns won their third straight 9C title. Gannon, who is also an All-State basketball player, will now focus on the Northern C on Thursday.
