Nuisance weed ordinance in effect

Havre’s nuisance weed ordinance began May 1.

Property owners with grass or weeds taller than eight inches will receive a notice. If the weeds are not cut or removed within ten days, the city will remove the weeds and the cost of the removal will be charged to the property owner.

Under City Ordinance No. 888, owners will receive only one violation notice per year, and the city will remove the nuisance grass or weeds in violation of the ordinance without any additional notice.
