Parker Filius places at U23 World Freestyle

Before former Havre High four-time state champion Parker Filius returns to Purdue for his sophomore wrestling season, he's got an amateur wrestling summer to do.

And, Filius' summer is off to a great start.

At last week's U23 Men's Freestyle World Team Trials at the Louis and Freda Stile Athlete Field House in Akron, Ohio, Filius placed seventh in the 65-kilogram weight class.

Filius needed :37 seconds to take a 10-0 match from Alex Madrigal of George Mason. Filius won five straight in wrestlebacks to get into the consolation quarterfinals, were he suffered an 11-5 loss to Cody Trybus of...
