Eleanor Stotts, 7, of Missoula and her father, Carl Stotts, reel in a 6 oz. brook trout at the 2018 Rotary Club Annual Father's Day Fishing Derby at Rotary Pond in Beaver Creek Park. The 2019 derby is set for Sunday at Rotary Pond with registration from noon to 1p.m.
The Havre Rotary Club is continuing its decades-old tradition, inviting fathers and their children to Rotary Pond in Beaver Creek Park Sunday for the club's annual Father's Day Fishing Derby.
Refreshments, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and water or pop will be available for purchase.
Rotarian Brian Lilletvedt said some children have competed in the derby for years, and have their favorite fishing spots picked out.
He said each competitor will have a number assigned, and when they catch a fish will go to the nearest weigh station to have it weighed, and the official will call in the number...
