Obituary - Ruth Laugen-Bradbury Fernandez

Ruth Laugen-Bradbury Fernandez, “Cookie Lady,” 81, went to be with her Lord Sunday, April 28, 2019, in Whitefish, Montana, with her family by her.

Ruth was born in Havre to Henry and Pearl Bradbury May 19, 1937. She was raised in Havre and graduated from Havre High School.

She married Theodore “Ted” Laugen Sept. 8, 1956. They lived in Havre, Santa Maria, California, Federal Way, Washington, and Hungry Horse.

After Ted’s passing, Ruth married Al Fernandez and lived in Columbia Falls.

Ruth worked at Hill County Courthouse, then at FEC at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, then later for Boeing in Washington. She took permanent medical leave in 1993.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ted; brothers Alfred Bradbury and Bill Bradbury; and sister Barbary Peterson.

She is survived by sisters Joyce Wegley of Cordele, Idaho, and Zella Witter of Hungry Horse, Montana; daughters, Crystal Macias and Melody Szostek, and son, Tad (Kimberly) Laugen, all of Burley, Idaho; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at the Glacier Bible Camp in Hungry Horse at the prayer chapel. Cookies and snacks will be services at the Laugen cabin after memorial.

Arrangements are by Columbia Mortuary.
