CHINOOK - Thanks to two great nights in Chinook, the Hi-Line summer rodeo season is in full gear now.
Last Friday and Saturday at the Blaine County Fair, the 2019 Bear Paw Roundup PRCA Rodeo was held, and with big payouts and PRCA standings points on the line, the action was intense.
Logan Brown won the All-Around Cowboy award competing in both tie-down roping and team roping.
And while PRCA cowboys and cowgirls come from all over to compete in Chinook, a local stole the show. Harlem's T'Jay Allen won the bull riding with a 78-point ride on Tall Timber. Allen came into the weekend sixth in the Montana PRCA standings.
Trevar McCallister scored 75 points on Montego Bay to win the bareback riding, while Tanner Hollenback, an NFR qualifier, scored 78.5 points on Lonesome Me to win the saddle bronc riding.
Other winners included Shawn Downing in steer wrestling, Bryce Both and Logan Brown in team roping, Dillon Hahnkamp in tie-down roping and Lindsay Kruse in barrel racing.
Next up on the local pro rodeo circuit is the Great Northern Rodeo July 19 in Havre.
