Paddle boarders float the waters July 12, 2018, at the second annual Bears Paw SUPfest.

The Third Annual Bears Paw SUPfest will be taking to the water at Beaver Creek Reservoir Saturday and Sunday, during what forecasters have said will be the two hottest days so far this year.

Organizers Tony and Cortney Filler said they have a full schedule of fun activities on stand-up paddle boards including games for adults and youths, competition, a night paddle and yoga, along with overnight camping on site, catered meals and some local brews.

Activities Saturday will include random tandem and backward races for adults and youths, SUP dodgeball, SUP boxing for an extra $10 fee, and a night paddle, as well as Nalivka's Original Pizza Kitchen pizza for dinner and Triple Dog Brewing Co. beer all day. Sunday morning will start with SUP yoga on the lake and breakfast from The Infinity Bake Shoppe.

Registration for the event starts at noon Saturday at the pavilion along the reservoir. The $25 cost helps pay for the park-use permit and the pizza, Tony Filler said.

However, Triple Dog and Infinity are donating their beer and baked goods, respectively, to the event, Cortney Filler said, adding that fivehead's also will be there Saturday selling T-shirts with the SUPfest logo. Participants are asked to bring their own paddle boards, but a few will be available for people who don't have one.

People who prefer to enjoy the event from shore are also welcome, they said.

The National Weather Service forecast for the weekend is for a high of 92 degrees Saturday, a low of 60 that night and a high of 89 Sunday.

The event more than doubled in size from the first year to the second, with 64 people attending last year, said Tony Filler, who added that the purpose of SUPfest is to have people come out to enjoy time on the water, being active and taking time to relax.
