Stone Child College hosting beginning farmer and rancher event

Stone Child College at Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation is hosting a Beginning Farmer and Rancher Resource and Technical Assistance Project Sunday and Monday at the college.

People are asked to pre-register for the event by Friday. A poster advertising the event says stipends are available.

Guest speaker topics are on Rocky Boy Cattleman’s Associaton, noxious weeds, Cronic Wasting Disease, small business, Rocky Boy Food Bank distribution, Sustainable Agriculture, Rocky Boy Historical Agriculture, local beef and buffalo, early farming and ranching, credit and lending, Rocky Boy Soil Conservation District, and other topics.

The event is scheduled to run 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both Sunday and Monday.
