Temps mild for fair but to turn hot next week

The weather has been mild — if windy — for the Great Northern Fair, but people might want to prepare for some warmer temperatures next week as the thermometer is expected to creep into the 90s for several days.

At the opening of most events at the fair Wednesday, the high recorded by National Weather Service at the Haver City-County Airport west of town was 84 degrees, with winds at 31 mph and gusts up to 38 mph.

Thursday was windier, with sustained winds up to 39 mph and gusts up to 52 mph, but the temperature remained mild, with a high of 83 degrees.
