Hello, God. It's me, Mara

Talking with my Father

You know, Lord, if we’re not getting our share of happiness and success out of life, maybe we ought to try these on for size — source unknown — just sharing.

First: Realize that we’re put on earth for a purpose. We’re not just born, we can find our purpose, Faith in self, and work toward the mastery of it; then we’ll find happiness and success. We need to learn the purpose for our life as early as we possibly can.

Second: Adopt a positive attitude in our daily living, always believing that the best is about to come our way — that something exciting is just around the corner. Anticipation and hope are the most positive of the emotions and among the most pleasurable.

Take Christmas for instance. We anticipate happiness; we hope for happiness and we plan and work toward making others happy at that season. What we look for, plan for, and work for, we usually find. If it doesn’t happen “tomorrow,” there are always other “tomorrows,” in short: build confidence in our future and ourselves; this is faith in others.

THIRD: Pray. That sounds as trite as positive thinking, but prayer builds a bridge of faith — a two-way bridge between us and the greatest Power in the Universe! This is faith in God. Prayer may be simple, direct, sincere, but above all — frequent. Pray for strength to do our job each day, wisdom to make the right decisions, patience to do all things in their proper time, guidance to shape our life for the future, understanding that we might understand others and that they might understand us! Soon we will actually feel these things flowing into us!

Accept the fact that we cannot do everything by ourselves, but with God’s help — reading: Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” There is no limit to what we can do, no burden we cannot carry, with God’s help.

Love, Mara
