Moms in the Making coming to Havre

Mary Waltner of Havre is bringing the Moms in the Making program to the area, meeting the first and third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in her home.

“The heart of this organization is to encourage those who are currently waiting to be a mom,” Moms in the Making President and founder Caroline Harries wrote in an introduction to the program, which she founded in 2013, as a faith-based fertility support group, while she was trying to become a mom.

The purpose is to support women who are struggling with infertility, Waltner said.

“I feel like its been pretty taboo, like people don’t talk about it much, and it is just now something people are starting to talk about,” Waltner said.

Moms in the Making has become a program across the nation and Waltner has started the first support group for Montana.

As of July of this year, the organization had 31 groups in 18 states, including the Havre group.

“The meetings are just somewhere safe to be and talk,” Waltner said.

Women who are interested in attending the group can email Waltner at [email protected] and visit http://momsinthemakinggroup.com for more information about the program.

“I want to break the taboo around infertility and give women a safe supportive environment that also offers hope. And Moms in the Making has been that for me, a network of women who just get it,” Waltner said.
