Second Street, Third Avenue intersection partially blocked for repairs

Vehicles can still use intersection

Public Works employees lay metal rebar into the ground at the intersection of Third Avenue and Second Street Wednesday in Havre.

A part of the intersection of Second Street and Third Avenue has been blocked off due to street repair, Havre Public Works Director Dave Peterson said.

He said the intersection was the location where Havre would put up its annual Christmas Tree. But because the city no longer displays a tree at that location - the annual Christmas tree lighting is now done in Havre's Town Square - the spot where the tree had been put up each year had been patched with asphalt.

The asphalt has deteriorated over the years, and the city is cutting out the section and filling it back in with concrete to matc...
