Havre Police Department

A First Street West caller reported a possible fraud case Wednesday at 8:41 a.m.

Wednesday at 12:20 p.m. a Second Street caller reported a stolen 2000 white Chevy Malibu.

--

A stolen rocking chair and footstool were reported stolen by a Sixth Street caller Wednesday at 4:16 p.m.

--

A dog bite was reported Wednesday at 4:38 p.m. by a 16th Street West caller.

--

Two arrests were made on First Street after another agency requested probation assistance from the Havre Police Department Wednesday at 5:03 p.m. No other information was available about the call.

Wednesday at 5:12 p.m. a First Street business reported a female shoplifter.

--

An arrest was made after Northern Montana Hospital reported Wednesday at 6:38 p.m. a physical altercation going on outside of the second floor doors.

--

Melissa Ray Doney of Havre, 39, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended or revoked license and driving with no insurance during a vehicle stop Wednesday at 9:54 p.m.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Joseph Allen Bernard of Box Elder, 38, was arrested on a State District Court warrant at the sheriff's office Wednesday at 1:51 p.m.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to two calls Wednesday and two this morning.

Firefighters responded to a report of a small grass fire Wednesday at 5:34 p.m. near mile marker 373 on U.S. Highway 2. The department sent two firefighters and the fire was out on arrival.

Firefighters responded to a call of a carbon monoxide malfunction on the 10 Block of Beaver Creek Boulevard Wednesday at 5:51 p.m. NorthWestern Energy was called and the malfunction was resolved.

Kremlin and Gildford rural fire departments and local farmers responded to a report of a grass fire on U.S. Highway 2 south of the Fresno grain elevator Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. Volunteer Firefighter John Muller said that the fire was about 40 acres and was likely started by a cigarette butt. Kremlin Rural Fire Department was the first to receive the report of the fire. On scene there were about seven firefighters from both departments, four fire trucks and eight farmers who put out the fire. The fire was contained in a stubble field and was extinguished by about 6:30-7 p.m.

Havre Animal Shelter

The Havre shelter this morning held one medium hair 7-month-old kitten, six short-hair 8-week-old kittens, four medium-hair 12-week-old kittens, three medium-hair 6-month-old kittens, three medium-hair 5-week-old kittens, one medium-hair 22-week-old kitten, one long-hair 23-week-old kitten and a long-hair cat, all of unknown gender along with three medium-hair female cats and one long-hair female cat.

The shelter also held this morning a female Labrador retriever 16-week-old puppy, one female and one male mixed-breed 16-week-old puppies, one female and one male Labrador retriever dogs, a male mixed-breed 10-week-old puppy, a female mixed-breed 9-month-old puppy, a female corgi-pit bull 7-month-old puppy, a male mixed-breed 11-month-old puppy and a male pit bull terrier 9-month-old puppy.

The shelter was also housing one 2-week-old female mixed-breed puppy and one male and two female mixed-breed 7-week-old puppies. Six 7-week-old puppies and a female mixed breed dog were being fostered off-site.
