Havre Elks again hosting soccer shoot contest

From Havre Elks Lodge #1201

Havre Elks Lodge #1201 is, again, holding its free soccer shoot contest and is inviting area youth to come to the soccer fields by Havre High School Wednesday, Sept. 11, to compete.

Registration starts at 5 p.m. with the contest starting immediately afterward.

Age categories are 7 and younger, 8-9, 10-11 and 12-14. Anyone from the region - Havre to Harlem and Chinook, up the Hi-Line to Chester, south to Box Elder and Big Sandy, Rocky Boy's and Fort Belknap Indian reservations and anywhere in between is welcome to compete.

The younger age groups will have a five-goal contest, shooting at a series of five goals in decreasing size from 28 inches to 17 inches.

Ages 12-14 will shoot a grid goal contest in which a full-size goal is sectioned off so points can be scored when the ball is kicked into certain sections.

People with questions can contact Brandy Kurtz, Kyle Leeds or Brad Baldwin of the Havre Elks Lodge or Christi Marsh of Havre Youth Soccer.
