Motorcycle crash apparently caused by heart attack

A single-vehicle motorcycle crash was reported on U.S. Highway 2 West at 12:04 p.m. Wednesday by multiple people

Three lanes of the section of Highway 2 between Holiday Village Mall and the Best Western Plus Havre Inn and Suites at were closed off until the crash was cleared.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Cade Hill said at the scene that the motorcycle was a Yamaha and the driver was not appearing to be wearing any safety equipment at the time of the crash. The victim was rushed to Northern Montana Hospital for medical attention. 

A representative from Montana Highway Patrol this morning said that the victim was suspected to have had a heart attack prior to the crash.

"All indications point to a heart attack before the crash," the representative said.

The representative added that the victim was flown to Benefis in Great Falls.

Havre Police Department, Hill County Sheriff's Office and the Montana Highway Patrol all responded to the scene.
