Benedict was born May 7, 1940, to Bernard and Katie (Capture) Striker. Ben graduated from Hays Elementary School. He attended Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota. He then pursued relocation in California. Ben was employed in the construction field working on various large dams in Montana and various locations. Ben also worked as a miner in northern Idaho and Butte, MT.

In 1970, Benedict Striker married Bernadine Buck; the couple moved to Oakland, CA, for several years. They then moved back to Montana, living in Glasgow, Missoula, and Butte before settling into Fort Belknap. The couple bought their home there in 1975.

Ben loved to play with his friend at the Havre Long Term Care Center. Pam, a CNA, who worked with Ben since his arrival four years ago, was most special to him. Both Ben and Bernadine stayed at the long-term care center; Ben loved going to Bernadine’s room to hang out and visit. He loved cruising even if it was the same scene each time. Ben was an old-timer in that he liked to watch his VCRs and no TV.

Ben is survived by his children William (Florence) Buck of Fort Worth, TX, and Valerie Striker of Fort Belknap; grandchildren, Ethan (Monique) Buck, Chaney (Jose) Parrott, Camie (David Gandara) Buck, Thomasina Mount all of Fort Worth, TX, Latricia (Michael) Haakanson of Fort Belknap and Chesley Buck of Rocky Boy, and Mystic Striker, Damani Has The Eagle, Henry Ironchild, Seth Ironchild, Ezra Striker, Thelma Buck, Riley Nicholson; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings Helen Bell, Lenore A. Stiffarm, John Matthew (Jakie) Stiffarm, James “Bobsy” (Cheryl) Stiffarm, and extended family members too numerous to name.

Preceding him in death is his loving wife, Bernadine; his parents, Bernard Striker and Katie Capture Striker; and siblings Ed Filesteel, Ramona Cliff, Thelma Yellow Tail, Lawrence Striker, Louie Stiffarm, Carl Stiffarm and Alfred Striker.
