From Hill County Community Foundation

Press release

The Hill County Community Foundation is seeking applications for the 2019 grant cycle.

All Hill County-area nonprofits are encouraged to apply for a grant. HCCF is looking to fund special projects that organizations are coordinating; HCCF cannot fund operating costs or salaries. Eligible applicants can request a minimum of $500 up to $1000 for their project. HCCF has a total of $4,500 to grant out this fall.

The Hill County Community Foundation awards grants in the following three focus areas:

• Arts and Culture

• Community Beautification

• Basic Human Needs

HCCF granted out a total of $7,200 in last year's 2018 grant cycle to 12 Hill County nonprofits in a highly competitive grant cycle.

The 2018 grantees included the Havre Main Street Group, District 4 Human Resources Development Council/ Community Garden, Artitudes Art Gallery, Jolly Janes of Gildford, Havre/Hill County Historic Preservation Commission, Recycle Hi-Line, Montana Actors' Theatre, Brother Van SOS Program, the Havre Softball Association, Montana State University-Northern Multicultural Center, Shakespeare in the Park and the Rudyard Historical Society/ Depot Museum.

The Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Montana Community Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to cultivate a culture of giving to empower Montana communities to flourish. Through the power of permanently endowed funds, HCCF helps donors achieve their lasting philanthropic goals and provides Hill County nonprofits with sustainable income.

"The HCCF Endowment belongs to everyone who lives in this county" said HCCF Chair Pam Veis. "Our goal is to continue to grow the endowment to ensure we keep wealth here in this area currently and for generations to come. A percentage of the endowment is granted out on an annual basis, so a larger endowment means more funds are granted out annually to benefit Hill County citizens and communities. With the continued support of philanthropic people who live here and/or love this area, that goal will become a reality."

The deadline for applications is Oct. 30. Interested applicants can contact Veis for more information or to request an application packet:
