Fort Belknap primary election results announced

The recounted results for the Fort Belknap primary election are in.

The top two vote-getters in each race advance to the general election Nov. 5

In the race for the River Gros Ventre District representative seat, incumbent Dominic Messerly, with 154 votes, will face Arlene Cochran, who just edged out Virgil M. Talks Different, with 84 votes to Talks Different’s 82.

Only two candidates filed in the race for Mountain Gros Ventre District representative. Geno LeValdo received 149 votes and incumbent Warren D. Morin received 135. Both candidates will be moving forward to the general election.

Incumbent Jeffery J. Stiffarm Sr. and Lorraine Brockie advance to the general election in the race for the Gros Ventre at-large seat. Stiffarm received 129 votes and Brockie 109, while Jay W. Mount received 71, Stephen “Dale” Fox III 56, William Cochran 50, Cecelia Shortman 63, Randall C. Werk Sr. 60 and Blake Stiffarm received 70 votes.

In the race for the for the Gros Ventre at-large/representative seat, Mike Fox received 248 votes and Wes Kill Eagle Sr. 239. Velva Stiffarm Boore received 215 votes, Lana K. Stiffarm 136, YoungBill Running Fisher 132 and Brenda Essert 85 in that race.

Incumbent Nathaniel Mount received 113 votes and Donald Horn 76 votes in the race for River Assiniboine District representative. Wesley Medicine Bear received 57 and Rochelle King Healy 36.

Incumbent Lynn Cliff Jr. received 98 votes in the race for the office of Mountain Assiniboine District representative while Warren R. Bell received 38. Tyler Allen received 31 votes.

In the race for Assiniboine at-large representative, Judith J. King received 172 votes and incumbent Curtis D. Horn 160. Edward Moore received 123 votes.

Incumbent Brandi L. King received 485 votes in the race for the office of Assiniboine at-large representative and John A. Allen received 408. Duane Buck Jr. received 163 votes in that race.
